My husband and I were both stunned by how amazing this book is.We loved everything about it. What a treasure!
There are some books that you just don't want to end. This is one of those books. Once I started reading it, I couldn't put it down. Each character is so relatable and easy to fall in love with. The writing style keeps you engaged and wanting more. The romance, the humor and the heartache were all so beautifully portrayed, just writing this review makes me want to pick it back up and read it all over again. Highly recommend!
This novel was hard to put down. It was heartrending, magical, and wise. I would especially recommend this for women who remember the emotional struggles of coming of age and learning to live fully and with strength in an often unforgiving world.
I read Carnival Man over 4 months ago and it is still with me. This coming of age novel has gritty realism, touched with mysticism. The setting is small-town lovely, and is told with great love and respect for the beauty and pitfalls of close community. I am now a devoted fan of this author, and can't wait to see her next book.
This book hums with a love of language and the Snoqualmie Valley. The characters feel real and lovably imperfect. I had a hard time putting this one down.
